ITINERARY
DAY 1 | BOGOTA
Upon arrival at El Dorado Airport in Bogota, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
DAY 2 | BOGOTA
At the agreed-upon time, we will begin a tour of Bogota’s historic center. The tour starts with a walking tour of Bolivar Square and the surrounding streets, where you will see buildings such as the National Capitol Building, the center of the country’s legislative life; the House of the Commoners; the Nariño House, the seat of the Presidency of the Republic; and the Santa Clara Church Museum. We will also visit the Botero Museum and the Mint Museum. The route continues at 2,600 meters above sea level from the city to 3,152 meters, the location of the sanctuary where the image of the Fallen Lord of Monserrate is venerated. From there, you can enjoy the best panoramic view of Bogotá. Return to the hotel.
DAY 3 | BOGOTÁ
Breakfast. Transfer to Bogotá airport for your flight to Pereira. Upon arrival at Matecaña Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
DAY 4 | BOGOTÁ – PEREIRA
Breakfast. At the designated time, transfer to the department of Risaralda, municipality of Santa Rosa de Cabal. Upon arrival at the coffee farm, the tour begins with a local expert who will guide you through the beautiful specialty coffee plantations, explaining the coffee process from planting and selective hand-picking to pulping. We will roast specialty coffee beans over a wood fire in the kitchen of a traditional farmhouse, where you can have an authentic coffee experience. The tour includes several viewpoints where we can appreciate the landscape and natural surroundings while enjoying a cup of coffee. Finally, we’ll visit the innovative coffee bean drying process and then the processing facility, ending at the main house where we’ll be bid farewell with a delicious coffee lemonade. Transfer to the hotel.
DAY 5 | PEREIRA
Breakfast. At the agreed-upon time, transfer to the Cocora Valley, located in the mountainous valley of the Central Andes of Colombia, in the department of Quindío, part of Los Nevados National Natural Park. Upon arrival in the Valley, we’ll enjoy a welcome cocktail (canelazo) and be assisted by a specialized eco-guide who will introduce us to the Cocora Nature Reserve. Walking, transfer to the cloud forest where we can appreciate the biodiversity of the local flora and fauna. We will take the ecological trail to the world’s tallest wax palm, the national tree, where we will participate in the Quindío wax palm ritual, which involves learning about the history of how the indigenous people worshipped this palm. Afterward, we will plant wax palm seedlings and enjoy a delicious traditional lunch. Transfer to the charming town of Salento for a walking tour visiting its colonial streets, artisan workshops, and the Cocora viewpoint. At the agreed-upon time, assistance and transfer back to your point of origin.
DAY 6 | PEREIRA
Breakfast. At the indicated time, transfer to the airport for your flight back to your city of origin.
